OKLAHOMA CITY – After a brutal loss in the first game of the Western Conference Finals, it seems one person is providing some much needed support for the team as they prepare for Game 2.

After being sidelined with an injury, Serge Ibaka has been cheering on his team and recently wrote a blog post about his experience on the bench.

In the post, he wrote, “It’s a difficult moment because this is the most important time of the year. All the work done during the summer and preparation during the season is focused on being ready and at your best when the Playoffs arrive, so it’s obviously disappointing not to be able to help my team on the court.”

He added, “All players and coaching staff feel the Thunder is a family, and I have no doubt my “family member” will put in a great effort in this difficult series. We are all the Thunder and we take pride in staying together against adversity. I will watch and cheer for them as their brother and their fan.”

Ibaka went on to thank fans for the support, saying he is very fortunate to have such amazing fans.

While he said he is out for the Western Conference Finals, he didn’t expand on whether or not he would be able to take the court if the Thunder moves on.
