NEW YORK – The new 9/11 museum is opening in New York today after years of delays and cost concerns.

The museum includes artifacts from the Twin Towers, firefighter gear, photos and mementos similar to our own Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.

Admission tickets are $24 but first responders and families impacted by the September 11, 2001 attack will get in for free.

There’s growing criticism of high admission fees and the sale of items in a museum store.

Museum officials say the site will cost an estimated $64 million per year to run.

The museum receives no government funding and relies on donations, revenue from tickets and money from that museum store to operate.
