OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities arrested an Oklahoma City woman after she allegedly attacked an elderly relative during a fight.
Officers say 34-year-old Bonnie Otero called police after the woman could not get up off the floor.
During the call, Otero told police the victim tried to attack her.
When authorities arrived on scene, Otero told them her relative fell.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim was “bleeding profusely from a large laceration that wrapped around the backside of her upper right arm. Tissue and tendons were hanging from her arm to the floor. Victim was clearly unable to get up.”
Officers tried to ask the woman what happened, but Otero said, “I told you that she fell! You don’t need to ask her what happened when I told you that she fell!”
After bringing Otero outside, they learned she had been fighting with the woman and pushed her to the ground.
The victim had fallen backward and cut herself on the sharp edge of an appliance.
At the jail, authorities say Otero and another inmate began screaming at each other.
According to the police report, Otero threw her urine cup.
She told officers she was cursing and throwing a fit because she was the one who was assaulted in her own home.
According to the affidavit, she said, “I want to know why you aren’t showing me any sympathy.”
Otero is charged with aggravated assault and battery, domestic abuse in the presence of a minor, false personation, providing false information and two city warrants.
