Historic block party coming to a City near you

NORMAN, Okla. – A popular museum in Norman is inviting Oklahomans to join their excitement after receiving a medal for exceptional contributions to their communities.

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is inviting visitors to a complimentary special event from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 1 to celebrate receiving a 2014 National Medal and Library Service winner.

The museum received the National Medal in a ceremony at the White House on May 8.

To celebrate their achievement Sam Noble Museum is holding a free historic block party.

The event will be family and pet friendly featuring live music from Oklahoma artists Travis Linville, the Tequila Songbirds, Mike Hosty ad Sherree Chamberlain on the museum’s north lawn.

Food trucks will also be on site and the museum will be offering celebratory cake  and refreshments.

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is located on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus at Timberdell Road and Chautauqua Avenue.
