Cowboys Take Seventh Bedlam Baseball Battle, End Sooners Season

The Oklahoma State Cowboys beat the Oklahoma Sooners baseball team 11-8, to end the first year of the Pete Hughes era in Norman.

OSU took five of the seven Bedlam games this season.

The Cowboys have now won two straight games over the Sooners in the Big 12 tournament, after losing the first eight Bedlam matchups in the conference tournament.

The two teams traded leads four times before OSU’s Aaron Cornell hit a three run home run, his first of the season, to put the Pokes up for good.

The Sooners finish the season 29-29, their first non-winning season since 2003.

Josh Holliday’s club improved to 43-15 and kept their hopes alive of hosting a NCAA tournament regional in Stillwater.

OSU faces another elimination game on Saturday, May 24, against the Texas Longhorns at 12:30 p.m. CT.

If the Cowboys win that game they will play the Longhorns again at 7:30 p.m. CT for the right to play for the Big 12 title.
