Outdoor ATMs are among the most dangerous places to swipe your debit card, according to BankRate.com.
Officials said that is because thieves have an easier time “skimming” information.
The same goes for outdoor gas station payment terminals.
Experts say consumers should not use debit cards to make purchases online because of the potential for hackers at each point of the transaction.
The site also advises against letting your debit card go “out of sight.”
For example, they suggest using cash or credit cards instead of your debit card in restaurants.
