Generous gift: Firefighters shocked after returning to store after emergency call
VACAVILLE, Calif. (CBS13) – A group of firefighters in California say they are grateful after being honored by a total stranger’s random act of generosity.
The firefighters were in line to pay for groceries at Costco on Memorial Day weekend.
Batt. Chief Jeff Ryder told CBS13, “They got up to the register to pay, got an emergency call.”
The firefighters immediately left the store and their cart filled with groceries behind.
When they came back to the store, they learned someone had paid for the groceries.
On the receipt was a note, saying, “Thank you firefighters for all you do- have a good weekend.”
It was simply signed by an “Air Force wife.”
