OKLAHOMA CITY – Racing fans can rejoice following an announcement by the National Drag Boat Association.
The association announced racing will return to Oklahoma City in 2015.
The race course will run along the Oklahoma River, which the association says is among the best venues in the nation for drag boat racing.
“We look forward to the debut of night racing on the Oklahoma River in 2015,” said NDBA spokesperson Mike McAuliffe. “Spectators will experience the power of these race boats as they roar down the Oklahoma River at 200 mph with visible flames firing from the engine’s headers.”
Two races are already scheduled for the 2015 season in Oklahoma City, including the NDBA National Championship Race.
The association is also planning races in Austin, Dallas, St. Louis and Tulsa.
