BOSTON – NFL fans were stunned when a former New England Patriots tight end was implicated in three murders last year.
Now, prosecutors say they have figured out the reason behind a double murder.
Aaron Hernandez was arrested in 2013 for the murder of an acquaintance, Odin Lloyd.
As the investigation progressed, he was also charged for a double-murder in Boston in 2012.
Prosecutors say Hernandez allegedly gunned down the two men after one of them accidentally bumped into him at a nightclub, spilling a drink.
They claim he followed them in his car and opened fire on their SUV at a red light.
He has pleaded not guilty in the murders of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado.
