Oklahoma’s softball team had two players named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America team on Wednesday.
OU third baseman Shelby Pendley was named first team All-American, while first baseman Lauren Chamberlain was named third team All-American.
It’s the second year in a row for Pendley and the third year in a row for Chamberlain to be named to the All-America team.
Pendley leads the Big 12 in almost every offensive category, including batting average, home runs, RBI’s, total bases, slugging percentage and on-base percentage.
Chamberlain earned All-American honors despite missing 25 games with a back injury and knee injury.
The Sooners will open play in the Women’s College World Series Thursday night with an 8:30 game against Alabama.
