MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – One woman is dead and another remains in the hospital following an apparent ‘domestic dispute’ in Midwest City.
The alleged suspect, Reginald Lancaster, remains on the loose.
A dumpster surrounded by police tape marks the scene of the murder in the parking lot of the Chestnut Square Apartments.
As soon as police arrived, the victims were both rushed to the hospital.
Police admit it’s too early to know what set off the deadly attack.
“It’s early in the investigation to determine what caused the altercation, but it is a boyfriend/ girlfriend situation that went bad,” said Midwest City assistant police chief Sid Porter.
Police say one of the victims dialed 911 and police arrived just minutes later.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital, but one of the women later died.
The death left neighbors in disbelief.
“It’s kinda surprising so close to home,” said Chelsea Hammons. “I don’t live that far away and I used to live here. I’m glad I left!”
Witnesses confirm the couple involved in this deadly dispute could frequently be heard fighting.
Authorities say Lancaster fled the scene before police could arrive.
