EDMOND, Okla. – A local University is partnering with Summerstock Productions to present a popular musical.
Summerstock Productions, in partnership with the University of Central Oklahoma, will present the original 1954 Broadway version of “Peter Pan: The Musical” June 12-15 and 19-22 at UCO’s Mitchell Hall Theater.
Based on the play by J.M. Barrie, “Peter Pan” was adapted into a musical with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and music by Morris “Moose” Charlap.
True to the classic plot of “Peter Pan,” the musical follows a boy who escapes growing-up by spending his life in Neverland, battling pirates alongside his new friends, the Darling children.
The production will feature Oklahoma City favorites Renee Anderson as Peter Pan and Matthew Alvin Brown as Captain Hook.
Anderson established her place on the stage in Oklahoma with Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre and Oklahoma Theatre Company, among others. She has also toured nationally in productions of “Oklahoma” and “The Music Man.”
UCO alumnus Brown has written and starred in multiple rock operas/musicals, including “Rainbow Around the Sun” which was later adapted into an award-winning motion picture.
Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for senior citizens, students grade k-12 and college students with a valid I.D. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Mitchell Hall Box Office at 405-974-3375 or by visiting
