TULSA, Okla. – A police officer with an Oklahoma school district is on suspension after he allegedly shot at a car with two teenagers inside.
Tulsa Public Schools and the Tulsa Police Department are investigating why a campus officer fired his gun knowing two minors were in the car.
According to KTUL, the officer spotted a car in the parking lot of Eliot Elementary School and went to check it out.
Authorities say the officer spoke with the two teens and spotted liquor inside the car.
That’s when the driver allegedly backed his car up and tried to flee.
Police say the officer pulled out his weapon and fired one round into the car’s tire.
Authorities say the officer felt he was in danger of being hit by the car but the teen says he simply wanted to leave, not do any harm to the police.
The case is currently under investigation.
