Police: Teens open fire on man delivering papers, charges filed

OKLAHOMA CITY – Two teens are facing serious charges after allegedly opening fire on a man delivering papers in southeast Oklahoma City.

On Friday morning, authorities were called to S.E. 36th St. and East Ave. after a man called dispatcher about a group of men shooting at him.

Police soon spotted a car matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to pull it over.

After officers turned on their lights and sirens, authorities say theĀ car sped up and led them on a high-speed chase.

After running several stop signs, the carĀ hopped the curb and crashed into a culvert.

Two of the teens were taken into custody but the driver of the car was able to escape.

Officers learned the car the teens were driving was stolen.

After taking two teenagers into custody, police were able to speak with the original victim.

According to the police affidavit, the victim’s car had several bullet holes and there were numerous casings on the ground.

The teens are now being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
