Oklahoma State’s baseball team lit up the scoreboard in a 13-7 win over Cal State Fullerton on Saturday night at Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater, advancing to the NCAA Regional final on Sunday.
Tanner Krietemeier went 3-for-6 with 5 RBI’s, while Craig McCounaghy was 2-for-5 with 3 RBI’s, but the highlight of the game came on defense, when OSU turned a triple play to get out of the third inning.
Keegan Dale lined one back to OSU pitcher Jon Perrin, who threw to Donnie Walton covering second base to double up a runner, then Walton threw to Krietemeier at first base to turn the triple play.
OSU scored three runs in the 3rd inning and five in the 5th to take an 8-1 lead, then held on as Cal State Fullerton rallied late.
The Cowboys advance to the regional final at 6:00 on Sunday, and will play the winner of the Nebraska-Cal State Fullerton elimination game at noon.
