Congratulations to two Oklahoma HS students winning Athlete of the Week scholarships

Congratulations to Taylor Ely and Landon Nault for winning the David Stanley High School Senior Athlete of the Week scholarship for 2013-2014! Taylor and Landon will each take home a $4,000 scholarship.

These two outstanding students were chosen out of more than 185 nominations.

Taylor Elfy plays basketball for Norman High and led a very young Tigers team in scoring, with a season scoring average was over 25 PPG. She also has a 4.0 grade point average.

Landon Nault is a 4-year starter for the Kingfisher football team.  He’s rushed for more than 6,000 yards in his career and has over 100 career touchdowns. Nault also participated in basketball and track, qualifying for the state track meet in four events. Landon also has a 4.0 grade point average and is a member of the National Honor Society.

This is the third year for the David Stanley Chevrolet of Norman scholarship program which features 39 high school senior athletes during the school-year. Each week the athlete is featured weekly on NewsChannel 4 at 10PM. Each school with an honored athlete receives a $200 donation to the athletic program from David Stanley.

The winning athletes participated in a banquet ceremony hosting by Bob Barry Jr. Tuesday night to honor their achievements and hand out the scholarships.20140603_195034
