Officials: Second drowning victim found in Oklahoma lake

BEAVER COUNTY, Okla. – According to officials a double drowning claimed the lives of two Beaver County residents.

Authorities say 48-year-old Betty McManaway was last seen running into the water at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon of a point on Lake Evans Chambers.

At approximately 3:45 in the afternoon, McManaway was found floating in front of a boat ramp and was recovered from the water by a witness, according to Traci Cassingham with OKDPS.

Authorities were told that McManaway was with a 5-year-old boy during the time.

According to Leader&Times, dive teams searched for the boy for two days.

According to officials 5-year-old Aiden Thompson was found at approximately 2:45 a.m. Thursday morning, 50 yards off of the west bank between a boat ramp and a set of islands.

Authorities have not stated whether or not they are investigating this double drowning.
