Oklahoma state rep. wants to bring back electric chair, firing squad, hanging

Execution lethal injection

OKLAHOMA CITY – One state representative is looking at other options for the death penalty while the state continues to investigate Clayton Lockett’s botched execution back in April.

Oklahoma City Republican Mike Christian says he’s planning a legislative study on expanding our state’s execution law to include other forms of execution.

The other options include bringing back the electric chair, the firing squad and hanging.

Christian is a former Oklahoma Highway Patrolman.

He says he believes the firing squad would be the most logical second option after lethal injection.

However, he says all three options would be within the state’s Constitutional rights.

No word yet on when that study will begin.
