HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Many schools across the country have made national news after issuing restrictive and sometimes unusual dress code rules.

Now, a school district in Virginia is causing quite a stir about a proposed change to its policy.

Henrico County Schools in Virginia announced that it is considering a ban on yoga pants under the district’s dress code policy.

According to WTVR, the district’s spokesman, Andy Jenks, says the proposed ban on the pants is designed to create a learning environment free from unnecessary distractions.

Many parents and students are fighting against the change, saying there is nothing distracting about the pants and girls should not be punished for being comfortable.
