Two priests attacked in Catholic church during burglary

PHOENIX, Ariz.  – One priest is dead and another was critically injured in an attack at a Catholic church in Phoenix on Thursday.

Rev. Kenneth Walker and Rev. Joseph Terra were both shot during a burglary.

Walker died of his injuries and Terra was critically injured.

Terra was only able to talk with authorities for a short amount of time due to his injuries.

The Mater Misericordiae Mission Catholic Church referred to more than one armed burglar breaking into the church, in a statement that was posted on its website.

A car was also stolen from the church but was later found abandoned.

At this time, no suspect information has been released
