JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. – A man accused of attacking another man with a machete over a dog ‘doing its business’ is behind bars.

Jeffrey Tyrone Walker turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday morning.

Investigators say Walker became upset over a dog going to the bathroom in his yard.

Neighbors say he confronted 41-year-old Chris Gaylor, who owns the dog.

Witnesses say Gaylor apologized to Walker and began collecting the dog’s feces when Walker allegedly attacked him with a machete.

Officials say Gaylor is in critical condition and could lose portions of his arm and his leg.

Walker is now facing a charge of attempted murder.
