Oklahoma authorities investigating inmate’s death

CREEK COUNTY, Okla. – The Creek County Sheriff’s Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation investigate an inmate’s death early this morning.

According to OSBI, David Ernst, 53, was found dead before 6 a.m. near the shower area inside the Creek County Criminal Justice Center.

OSBI is investigating Ernst’s death as suspicious although no foul play is expected.

The Medical Examiner’s office is said to perform an autopsy to determine Ernst’s cause of death.

Officials say the inmate was recently convicted of manslaughter.
