Update 6/19 – The Warr Acres woman who claimed she was stabbed during a robbery has recanted her story.

Warr Acres Police say the woman admitted she made the story up after meeting with detectives.

Officials say the investigation is now closed.

WARR ACRES, Okla. - A Warr Acres woman is rushed to the hospital after an attempted robbery turned violent.

Police are still searching for the knife wielding crook.

The stabbing took place near NW 49th and MacArthur.

So far no arrests have been made.

With a paramedic holding a bandage to her abdomen, the victim was loaded onto a gurney and rushed to the hospital after being the victim of a robbery just minutes prior.

The victim claimed she was walking down the street just a few blocks from her home when a man came up and threatened her.

"He put his arm around her neck and demanded money and personal property," said Warr Acres police Sgt. Alan Davidofsky.

Police say the victim didn't cooperate and the robbery quickly turned violent.

"She struggled with him and kicked him, so he cut her a few times," said Davidofsky.

From there the victim and suspect ran in opposite directions.

Police were first alerted after the woman ran back to her street and her family called police.

"It surprises me anything like this would happen. It's kind of scary," said Liz Murphy.

Liz works next door to where the stabbing took place.

Unfortunately for neighbors, police don't have a great description of the suspect.

He is said to be a skinny blonde haired man who quote "smelled bad."

"I guess we'll just have to watch our backs," said Murphy.

The victim is expected to survive her injuries.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact Warr Acres police.
