Capture

OKLAHOMA – Maybe you have noticed it while grocery shopping – the cost of food is on the rise.

Beef, produce, milk and many other foods have just seen the highest price hike in three years.

And it’s expected to get even worse.

Grocery prices are predicted to rise another 3.5% this year.

If you find that the same bag of groceries is costing you more, there are some tips you can follow to stretch your dollar a little further.

“The smartest thing you can possibly do is to buy basic foods..if you buy rice and you buy basic vegetables and you buy fresh meat that’s the cheapest you can possibly eat and it’s going to be the healthiest you can possibly eat and it’s also going to save you a lot of money … “

You can also save some money by only buying produce that is in season, watching for weekly sales, and using coupons.

Another good tip is to buy large portions of food that’s on sale, and then freeze it for later.
