“I snapped,” Disabled woman attacks robber with unusual weapon
MARION, Ind. – A disabled Indiana woman refused to be a victim when a burglar forced his way into her home.
Patty Kearney and her husband were watching television when they heard the glass in their back door shatter.
The intruder confronted the couple and demanded any guns they might have in the house.
When Kearney realized the robber didn’t have a gun himself, she sprung into action with a wooden back-scratcher.
“And I said, ‘No’ and looked at him and said, ‘Do you have a gun?’ And he said, ‘No’ and I don’t know what happened. I snapped. I don’t think he expected an overweight woman on oxygen to attack him, I really don’t,” said Kearney.
The crook ran away after the back-scratcher beating.
Police say he didn’t take anything from Kearney’s home.
