OKLAHOMA CITY – A metro family is still desperate for answers two weeks after their loved one was found dead.
58-year-old Lloyd Strain was found naked his body dumped in an alley way near N.W. 12th and Penn.
His sister, Kimberly Strain, says she is tired of hearing her late brother referred to as “the naked guy”.
She wants to show everyone he was more than that and let whoever did this know how important he was to her.
He was always there to lend a hand and couldn’t say no to anyone in need.
“Lloyd, everybody loved him,” says Strain.
Strain and her daughter Alex say that’s the “Uncle Lloyd” they remember.
Not the naked body found in an alley near N.W. 12th and Penn.
“He was more than that,” says Strain. “He was my brother, my best friend.”
Last week, when Strain saw a homicide detective’s card at her door, her first thought was, ‘Where is Lloyd?’
“I looked at the card and it said homicide detective and I was like, ‘Oh no!’ says Strain. “I had no idea. It hit me when I saw the card and then I went to his door and he wasn’t home.”
To their knowledge he wasn’t involved in drugs or any other illegal activity and they can’t think of anyone who would want to hurt him.
“He didn’t have any enemies,” says Strain. “He was really, really kind-hearted. Maybe to a fault, I don’t know.”
Their family was small and Strain says “Uncle Lloyd” was all they had.
“I’m a single mom raising her with no support,” says Strain. “Lloyd’s help was so important to us.”
Alex Strain says, “I never had a real solid man in my life. He was that man.”
Now they just want to know why? Why was “Uncle Lloyd” taken from them?
Alex Strain says, “How can you just murder someone? That was my uncle. He didn’t do anything! He always made time to be nice to people. Why do you kill someone so kind?”
“You can hide from man’s court and they may never prosecute this,” says Strain. “But you have to live with that.”
Investigators are still determining how Strain was killed.
They are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
