OKLAHOMA CITY – Three nonprofit organizations are making plans to organize a race series called “Run This Town,” which will take place in the heart of Oklahoma City.

Runners will have the option to participate in running one, two or all three of the 5K races.

The races will start at 8 p.m. on consecutive Saturday nights beginning August 9.

The first race in the series, in Downtown Oklahoma City, is Downtown Dash 5k, which will highlight some of OKC’s favorite historic neighborhoods and the rapidly expanding Midtown District.

Limbs for Life’s Blaze 5K and Hero Homecoming presented in conjunction with the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center, welcomes veterans, amputees, runners and the entire community to run along the Oklahoma River Trails in order to benefit those in need of prosthetic care. This race takes place August 16 at 8:00 p.m. and starts at the Chesapeake Boathouse.

The third and final race in the series, Oklahoma Contemporary’s Midnight Streak 5K presented by Kirkpatrick Bank, benefits educational programming for Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center, including free lectures and films. Their race is August 23 at 8:00 p.m. and starts at the organization’s future downtown site at NW 11th and Broadway.
