OKLAHOMA CITY - A group of people are caught on surveillance video in the middle of the night, checking for open car doors in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood.

Courtney King considers her neighborhood off Northwest 122nd and Country Hollow Drive safe and quiet, but recent surveillance video is putting her on edge.

"When I watched that, I was like oh my gosh, it was scary when you see them coming up to their things," said King.

Her daughter was a victim; she says she left her car doors unlocked.

"She said 'mom, someone went through my car and we saw it on the tape' and I was like what in the world, and they didn't even take anything, but the boy went through the entire car," said King.

Tom Mitscher lives in the neighborhood too and he has a message to whoever is in the video.

"Stay home, quit messing around at two o'clock in the morning," said Mitscher.

For King, she's learned a lesson from her daughter's mistake and is going to be more aware.

"You have to lock your things. Do not leave valuable things in your car, put your car in the garage," said King.

Police are advising residents in the area to be nosy neighbors and to be aware of any suspicious activity.
