Harley-Davidson unveiled its first electronic motorcycle Thursday.

The electronic Harley, known as “project LiveWire”, isn’t for sale yet.

The company kicks off a promotional, nationwide tour next week in Manhattan to give customers a chance for a test drive.

The company says it will incorporate consumer feedback into the final version.

Harley’s Chief Marketing Officer insists the bike maintains the signature sound of the gas-guzzling original – describing the new bike’s sound as a “fighter jet on an aircraft carrier.”

No word yet on when it’ll go on sale or how much it’ll cost.
