PGA’s Scott Verplank Literally Flying High

Golf isn't a heart pounding, thrill seeking, adrenaline ride.

That's why the PGA's Scott Verplank took to the skies to satisfy his need for speed.

The Edmond native, Verplank, had the United States Air Force take him up in a fighter jet. Verplank hopped in the jet, took off and immediately went completely vertical.

He landed safely and the moment he hit concrete after touching down said, "I made it on the ground!"

Verplank turns 50 on July 9th. Literally 1 day before the US Senior Open at Oak Tree. Verplank will play in his very first Champions Tour event on his home course. That's why some have called him a favorite to win the event.
