Recall: Velveeta recalling hundreds of cases of product for recipe problem
A popular food company is recalling hundreds of cases of products because of a problem with the recipe.
Kraft Foods Group is recalling 260 cases of Velveeta Original Pasteurized Recipe Cheese Product because it doesn’t contain the right levels of sorbic acid, a preservative.
Officials say the affected products could spoil before the ‘best by’ date or cause food borne illnesses.
The affected products were sent to Wal-Mart, which says it may have shipped that batch to 12 different states.
The products may have been shipped to stores in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The recalled products have the case code 17 DEC 2014 09:34 through 13:15 only.
Customers should return the items to the store for an exchange or full refund.
