About 175, 000 linear “Personal Emergency Reporting System Transmitters” are being recalled because the batteries used in the transmitters can fail to emit a low battery warning.

And that means users think it’s working when it may not be.

The “Pers” transmitters can be worn around the neck, on the wrist, or as a belt clip.
