A popular grocery store has agreed to pay a hefty fine after investigators found that some customers were charged more than the displayed price.
Whole Foods is paying $800,000 for overcharging customers in California.
Investigators say some of the pricing problems centered around the hot food bar and salad bar, all items that need to be weighed.
Officials say some of the employees didn’t subtract the weight of the container, so customers paid too much.
In a statement, Whole Foods said, “While we realize that human error is always possible, we will continue to refine and implement additional processes to minimize such errors going forward.”
