LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – The morning of June 24 was just like any other day for 78-year-old John Faust, until he decided to stop at a San Bernardino gas station.

He was cornered by two male robbers armed with guns.

According to Faust, one of the robbers demanded his wallet before punching the great-grandfather in the face.

“The next thing I knew, I was lying on the ground,” he said.

Surveillance cameras were rolling as the pair emptied Faust’s pockets and ran away, leaving him unconscious and bleeding.

According to KTLA, Faust spent four days in the hospital and was treated for a broken nose, concussion and bleeding on the brain.

“It’s the lowest of low,” said Lt. Rich Lawhead, of the San Bernardino Police Department. “They didn’t appear to be nervous in any way, shape or form. And they’re only going to get more and more brazen.”

“Eventually, somebody’s going to get killed, ” he added.

The armed robbers are still on the loose.
