‘Heat Alert’ in effect for Oklahoma City Metro

EMSA’s “Heat Alert” remains in effect for the 7th day in the Oklahoma City Metro.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Sunday afternoon, EMSA declared the first “Heat Alert” of Summer 2014.
Six patients called 911 complaining of symptoms related to the heat, according to EMSA.
At this point, EMSA officials believe the heat is having a serious impact on public health, prompting EMSA to issue this ‘Heat Alert’.
The public is being urged to take extra precautions because of the extreme temperatures.
Heat-related deaths and illness are preventable yet annually many people succumb to extreme heat.
