CHICKASHA, Okla. – One inmate is in the hospital after a prison bus fight broke out during the morning rush hour Monday on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike near Chickasha, Okla.

Officers say the bus carrying 40-50 federal inmates was traveling on the turnpike when a fight between inmates erupted at I-44 near the Newcastle toll gate.

Prison guards pulled the bus over to the side of the road and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and U.S. Marshals arrived on the scene and helped break up the brawl.

Four inmates were hurt during the fight, and one was transported to the hospital.

All the other inmates were transferred to another bus.
