DALLAS (KDFW) – A boy who was taken from his father at 2-years-old has been reunited with his dad eight years later.

According to KDFW, Drew Drees was abducted in 2006 by his mother, Padmashini Drees following the couple’s divorce.

Even though an arrest warrant was issued for Padmashini, authorities say she took Drew to India.

Recently, she decided to return to the United States.

She was arrested at DFW Airport on Tuesday when her flight landed on charges of interference with child custody.

Drew’s father, Dean, remarried and had other children but says he never stopped searching for Drew.

The pair were reunited and now the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Family Advocacy Division is helping with the transition.
