BECKHAM COUNTY, Okla. – A weekend of fun turns to tragedy after a 10-year-old boy dies from an ATV accident.
It happened Saturday night on private property in Beckham County near Elk City.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the boy was driving a 1999 Honda FourTrax in a pasture when he lost control.
Investigators say when he was driving he lost control, thrown off the ATV, and it rolled over him.
The boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers say the cause of the accident was unsafe speed and the boy was not wearing a helmet.
