Hit and run suspect behind bars after victim follows him home

OKLAHOMA CITY – One man is behind bars after a hit and run.

Police say 34-year-old Peter Dorney allegedly hit a woman on I-44 near Northwest 36th and fled the scene.

The woman reported the accident to authorities and continued to follow the suspect to his home.

According to officials, Dorney and a trooper got into a short scuffle when the trooper attempted to arrest him.

The trooper and the suspect were both taken to the hospital for their minor injuries.

Dorney was booked into Oklahoma County Jail.  He is facing numerous charges including DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and obstruction of justice.
