Brotherly love: Boys put bond to the test in triathlon

BOISE, Idaho (KTVB) – When you meet Lucas and Noah Aldrich, you can immediately feel the love between the two brothers.

6-year-old Lucas was born with lissencephaly, which means he will never walk, talk or eat on his own.

But that hasn’t stopped his family from making sure he has the best life possible.

“They definitely have a special bond, the two of them,” Brian Aldrich told KTVB. “You see Lucas light up so much when Noah enters the room. It just brings a smile to your face when you see the love between the boys.”

They enjoy doing most things that little boys do, like take bike rides together and watch television.

Recently, 8-year-old Noah wanted to test the physical limits of their bond.

“He said, ‘Mom, I want to do this with my brother,” said Alissa. “That’s where the idea was born and I think the next day we started training.”

The boys trained for the YMCA Kids Club Program, which features a kid’s triathlon.

On the day of the race, Noah swam, biked and ran with his little brother in tow.

The pair completed the race together and became an inspiration for all who saw them.
