Crews trying to find information on missing mother nearly two decades later
ROGER COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities in eastern Oklahoma have launched a new effort to find a woman that disappeared nearly two decades ago.
New leads came to light that are giving her family hope for answers.
“We’re utilizing dogs, ATVs, horses, anything we can to attempt to locate an area that we could possibly start excavation on,” said Scott Walton, with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office.
Crews are searching for Dione Fox, who was reported missing after she failed to show up for a court date 18 years ago.
Dione’s daughter, Desiree, keeps her mother’s picture on her phone at all times.
“I tried finding her but it was really just me,” Fox told KJRH.
She’s glad to know authorities are searching for her mother, who disappeared back in 1996.
The Rogers County sheriff says new information has them combing through land near Tiawah, which is owned by Desiree’s grandparents.
Now that Desiree is expecting her own baby, she’s glad they are searching for the mother she never forgot.
“To know she’s found and she’s not, she hasn’t just left,” she said.
