MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — A Minnesota man says his family was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight after he posted a negative tweet about an airline worker.
WCCO reports that Duff Watson claims he was asked to de-board a flight from Denver to Minneapolis because he posted a comment to @SouthwestAir about an airlines agent and her service.
Watson told WCCO that he had priority boarding access, but an agent at the gate wouldn’t allow his two kids to tag along.
Watson was upset and sent out a tweet expressing his frustration.
“Something to the effect of, ‘Wow, rudest agent in Denver. Kimberly S, gate C39, not happy @SouthwestAir,’” Watson said.
According to WCCO, his family was asked to de-board because the agent felt her safety was threatened because of the tweet.
Watson says he was forced to delete the tweet. He deleted it and his family were allowed back on board and continued onto Minneapolis.
Southwest Airlines apologized to Watson and the family was given three $50 vouchers for a future Southwest Airlines flight.
