Run to Remember raises big bucks for Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum

OKLAHOMA CITY – Two months after thousands of runners flooded our city, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon announced the proceeds raised at this year’s event.

The National Memorial and Museum does not receive funding from the city, state or federal government.

The money raised from the run accounts for almost a third of all the memorial and museum’s operating budget.

Last year, the marathon raised almost $1 million.

This year’s race topped that amount, bringing in $1,002,000 and featured 2,600 runners from all over the world.

Organizers say this is the first time the Memorial Marathon proceeds have reached more than $1 million.
