HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio – A teacher in Ohio has resigned after being accused of abusing a student.

The resignation comes after an incident was caught on a surveillance camera in May.

Barbara Williams, a teacher in the Riverdale School District for 15 years, appears to shove the child and lift him by the front of the shirt.

Williams has pleaded not guilty to child endangerment.

In her resignation letter, Williams said she was leaving for “personal reasons.”

She and her attorney have declined to comment on the accusations.

An attorney for the family of the child in the video says that students in the district are safer now that Williams has left.
