Parents allegedly leave children in car while stealing from Del City home

DEL CITY, Okla. – Del City Police have arrested two people who are accused of stealing from a Del City home while their two young children were left alone in the family car.

The suspects, Daniel Job and Ashley Hall, had reportedly been at the victim’s house the night before drinking with a friend.

Police believe the crime happened after that friend fell asleep.

The homeowners awoke the next morning to find many of their belongings gone.

Major Jody Suit, with Del City Police, said, “When he woke up the next morning all his brother’s firearms and a lot of personal effects were taken from the residence.”

The victim called police and then led them straight to the suspects.

Suit said, “The victim and his brother went to a tent out near Harrah where they located the suspects and part of the stolen property.”

When police tracked down the suspects and the stolen goods, they also discovered a case of child neglect.

Police say the suspects were found living in a tent in a rural part of Oklahoma County with their two children. Those children were just two and three years old.

The suspects confessed to hiding the items and then told police the night before their two children were left unattended in the vehicle while they were drinking with their friend.

Suit said, “They drove those children from the scene all the way out to Harrah while intoxicated.”

In fact, police say Job told them he had a 12 pack of beer and a 5th and a half of liquor before driving them home.

They also say there could be more trouble ahead for the suspects.

Suit said, “They are under investigation for other crimes in the area, at least one in Midwest City, where someone allowed them to come to the residence and they thanked them by stealing their items.”

The suspects were booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on numerous complaints including grand larceny and child endangerment.
