Update: Oklahoma sports legend voted “Best Individual Season in College Football”
UPDATE: ESPN announced that fans selected Barry Sander’s 1988 season as the greatest of all time.
STILLWATER, Okla. – An Oklahoma sports legend is asking for votes from fans.
In 1988, Barry Sanders rushed for 2,628 yards and 37 touchdowns during his time with Oklahoma State.
He broke 38 FBS records and earned four 300-yard games.
Recently, ESPN asked fans to vote for players with the “Best Individual Season in College Football.”
After several rounds of voting, Barry Sanders made it to Round 3, where his 1988 season is pitted against Cam Newton’s 2010 season with Auburn.
If he passes Newton, he will meet either Herschel Walker or Vince Young in the finals.
