DAVIS, Okla.  — Police are investigating a double near drowning that happened at Turner Falls in the Blue Hole Swimming area.

The Davis police chief says around 12:30 p.m. Friday, a boy wanted to see how deep the water was and jumped in the Blue Hole area.

It was reported that he did not know how to swim and started having some difficulty.

Investigators say the boy’s 19-year-old uncle went into the water to save the boy.

However, he also didn’t know how to swim and had to be rescued.

Both victims were rescued by lifeguards and bystanders.

Rescue crews had to perform CPR on the uncle and he was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

The boy was alert and was taken to an Ardmore hospital to be checked out.
