OREGON – Would you know what to do if your beloved pet nearly drowned, and needed to be revived?

What if that pet was a reptile?

That was the situation faced by an Oregon woman.

Sherrie Dolezal says the bearded Dragon Lizard, named Del Sol, fell in her swimming pool.

The reptile was found floating and not breathing.

Determined to save her cold-blooded friend, Dolezal says she quickly pulled him out and turned him upside down to get water out of his mouth.

She then performed compressions on his tiny chest, and blew air into his mouth.

After several minutes, Dolezal says Del Sol came back to life!

“I just grabbed him instantly, and turned him upside-down, and I started pounding him on his back and started to cry,” Dolezal said.

Dolezal says she runs a reptile rescue at her home.

She has more than 20 reptiles, including lizards and tortoises.
