OKLAHOMA CITY – Firefighters spent early Friday morning battling a building fire on the southwest side of the metro.

The fire started just before 6 a.m. Friday at 7500 Southwest 29th, which is between Rockwell and Council.

When crews got there they found heavy black smoke and flames coming from the building.

At one point firefighters had to take a defensive stance on the fire.

The building was housing Grease Drums and Filters.

Fires crews say it was too dangerous to go inside and had to use safety precautions approaching the fire.

Firefighters say the fire is out, but the investigation is just beginning.
