Former American Idol contestant Josh Gracin was placed on a psychiatric hold after posting an apparent suicide note on Facebook.

According to TMZ, on Thursday Gracin, posted: “I’ve loved her for 17 years … I made mistakes … I admitted them, told her the truth and she turned her back on me when I needed her help the most … I love you all .. You have given me the greatest gift. You allowed me to touch your hearts with what I loved to do the most … Please remember me as someone who gave his all in his music … Pray for my family as they carry on in this world without me. Goodbye.”

The post has since been deleted.

Officials rushed to Gracin’s home for a welfare check after a family member saw the post on Facebook.  Gracin was not home when police arrived.

Police were able to get in touch with him by phone and convince him to come home.

Gracin was reportedly placed on psychiatric hold Thursday night.

His manager, Amy Macintosh, posted a message to Gracin’s social media accounts letting fans know the singer is safe.

Gracin finished fourth on American Idol in 2003.
